The Life of Saints

  • Saint Francis of Assisi

A saint of poverty, humility, nature, animals (birds).

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace;
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is doubt, faith;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is darkness, light;
Where there is sadness, joy.

Grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;
to be understood, as to understand;
to be loved, as to love;
for it is in giving that we receive,
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
and it is in dying that we are born to Eternal Life.

  • Saint Anthony of Padua

More than just a saint to ask for petitions when we lose something, this Saint went through his life, searching for something more and eventually found his life and vocation in Franciscan spirituality.

The Rule of Benedictine

May we all aspire to be like the Saints, to live a life devoted to Christ. To call out to saints, in our times of struggle and difficulties; in faith by an example of their lives, we make this prayer through Christ our Lord, Amen.
