Such a beautiful virtue.
An amazing one indeed, but so very hard to follow.
Today, we live in a world that is competitive, non-compromising, seemingly unloving and uncaring. A world that sometimes give you a feeling that you are chasing after something yet you do not know what it is.
There is greed, fear, unhealthy attachments, control, power, so on and forth. These things that do not give life are so often the by products of what we have become because we choose to live by our own desires, rather than with God.
Sin, is one instance. We are made up of flesh and spirit, and which will we choose?
We know that we are all made good, but why is it that we often don’t show that we are?
Vulnerability, honesty, humbleness, loving, forgiving, accepting, compassionate, gratitude, all these are good virtues to live by, and can be a challenge in today’s world.
So, the ultimate question- What do we live by?
We are all shaped by opinions, facts, experiences of what others tell us we are, we crave for attention in all the wrong places, we bear grudges, hatred, resentment, jealously and often fail to look within ourselves. And we are scared, to look at the deepest parts of ourselves, because we are afraid it might shock us. So choosing to live in fear and compromising our values is the next best possible option.
We want to search for true love, happiness, joy and all the happy feelings, yet when it all comes to an end, we question ourselves, why is there something still missing? Or maybe we did everything we know that can make us happy, yet it still can’t fulfill the deepest longings within our heart.
Maybe there isn’t really happiness after all, is there?
And we give in to reality and sweep our dreams right under the carpet because we believe we are not good enough, never enough and being simple is enough. We give in to society and lose our dreams in hope of searching for them one day, but that one day may never happen, because we would rather remain in our safe comfort zone rather than risking it. I mean, come on, that’s what everyone says isn’t it?
You see, my dear friends, as what Jesus said
“The thief comes only in order to steal, kill, and destroy. I have come in order that you might have life- life in all its fullness.” – John 10:10
“I have told you this so that you will have peace by being united to me. The world will make you suffer. But be brave! I have defeated the world!” – John 16:33
The answer has always been Jesus, if only we would pray and ask the Lord to guide our hearts back to Him.
He loves us, just as we are, and there is no denying to that. Let us pray to Mother Mary and ask for her intercession.
Dear Mother Mary, we lift up to you, those souls who are living yet feel that they are dead inside, uplift their spirits. Pour hope, love and joy into their hearts, and allow them to be vulnerable with themselves. I beg for your mercy and kindness towards souls that do not see the good within themselves and hurt others because they are hurting, harden not their hearts but grant them renewed strength and faith in you. Rekindle the flame of those whose hearts are lukewarm and send laborers to the harvests so that they could feel your love and warmth from others.
Help poor souls who are living in spiritual poverty yet do not know any means to attain joy and hope in all that they have, grant them the openness of heart that they may see truth in areas of their life. Also to those who feel that they are never good enough, give them strength and courage to know that they are never alone.
Let all who seek you and know you give thanks to all that they have and grant wisdom for discerning hearts in wanting to know you and love you. This we pray,
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with you, blessed are you amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb Jesus, Holy Mary Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now, and at the hour of our death, amen.
Glory Be to the Father, to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end, Amen.
Whatever life shall bring your way
Through each and every fleeting day,
Throughout the months and long years, too,
God in His Heaven shall care for you;
So, with this knowledge,
may you go
Serenely and content to know
Whatever comes your whole life through,
God in His Heaven shall care for you.
“Casting all your care upon Him; for He careth for you.” – 1 Peter 5:7
“For it is better to suffer for doing good, if this should be God’s will, then for doing evil.”- 1 Peter 3:17
“Since Christ suffered physically, you too must strengthen yourselves with the same way of thinking that he had; because whoever suffers physically is no longer involved with sin.” – 1 Peter 4:1
